Meet Tim O'Neill and his daughter Grace

Tim O’Neill, 41, was the father of 13 year old daughter Grace.

Tim became a widower last fall when Ann Marie, his wife of 15 years, passed away after a lengthy illness. Tim was diagnosed in April with a disease that took his life on June 7th, after 49 days of hospitalization with intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

A Pleasant Mount native, Tim lived in Avoca for the past 15 years. He was employed as a Registered Nurse at SCI Waymart for 16 years. Prior to that he worked at the Community Medical Center in Scranton.

Even with insurance coverage, significant unpaid medical expenses remain and Grace now prepares for the rest of her life without either parent. To help lessen this burden and provide some financial assistance for her future, several family members, friends and co-workers of Tim have planned a benefit event on Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 11 am to 6 pm at the Browndale Sportsmen’s Club. There will be a chicken barbeque, raffles, a silent auction, a bake sale, a chinese auction, live music, and refreshments.

We have also created a flyer for the event. Please feel free to download it, print it out and post it. It is available in low resolution (463kb) and high resolution (10.7mb).

A fund has been established at Honesdale National Bank under the name of "TUFF" (Tim's Ultimate Fighting Fund.) Checks can be made out to TUFF - c/o Honesdale National Bank. Donations can be mailed to:
